The International Cricket Counil (ICC) on Friday confirmed a change of venue in the upcoming Women's ODI World Cup. Five matches originally scheduled to be held at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, including the opening game of the tournament and a potential final, have been moved to Navi Mumbai's DY Patil Stadium.
The change in venue comes after the Karnataka cricket body failed to secure necessary approvals from the state police to host the matches at the iconic venue in the aftermath of a stampede during Royal Challengers Bengaluru's victory celebrations post the IPL 2025 final in June.
