Pant and Bumrah Shine in Latest ICC Test Rankings
The ICC Test rankings have been updated, reflecting significant changes in the global cricket hierarchy following a week of compelling performances in both Test and T20I cricket.
Rishabh Pant has surged to a career-best seventh place in the ICC Test batting rankings after his remarkable twin centuries at Headingley. The dynamic wicketkeeper-batsman scored 134 and 118, becoming only the second wicketkeeper in Test history, after Andy Flower, to achieve this feat. Pant is also the first Indian wicket-keeper batter to accumulate 800 rating points in Test history.
Joe Root remains the top-ranked Test batter globally, with Harry Brook closely following in second. India's Shubman Gill has climbed five places to 20th after his elegant century in the first innings.
India’s premier fast bowler, Jasprit Bumrah, retains his position as the world’s No. 1 Test bowler, thanks to another five-wicket haul at Headingley. Ben Stokes of England has moved up three spots to claim the No. 5 position in the Test all-rounder rankings after contributing effectively with both bat and ball.
The T20I rankings have also seen notable changes after the tri-series in Glasgow. Michael Levitt of the Netherlands has jumped 16 places to 14th, while Scotland’s Brandon McMullen has risen 20 spots to joint 38th.
