The Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) is poised to launch its own T20 league in the 2025-26 season, joining a growing number of state associations embracing the format.
Anil Patel, Secretary of the Gujarat Cricket Association, confirmed the decision to Cricbuzz. He stated that the association is still working to identify a suitable window for the tournament and is yet to finalize the number of participating teams, as well as other key details.
These domestic T20 leagues across India have emerged as crucial scouting grounds for IPL franchises. Leagues in Delhi, Mumbai, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Andhra, and Saurashtra provide platforms for local players to showcase their talent and potentially advance their careers. Many of these leagues are typically held in June and July, following the conclusion of the IPL season in May.
